Weekend In Austin at Lone Star Court

Girls trip in Austin, Texas. What we did, where we stayed and what we ate. Full review on Lone Star Court hotel | The Blonder Life

Last weekend Kaci and I headed down to Austin to have a little girls trip, and knew we wanted to stay at a unique hotel. My favorite thing ever is staying at boutique hotels. They always have such fun touches, and I love that they put more decorations and effort into both the grounds and the rooms compared to standard hotels. We had the pleasure of staying at Lone Star Court located in The Domain, and it was everything I could have dreamed of in a hotel!

FRIDAY

We left Houston around 3 PM, and checked into our hotel at about 6 PM. The lobby had so many Texas touches and is super homey! Lone Star Court’s whole vibe is very outdoorsy, which makes sense as their tagline is Why Camp? Lets Glamp!

After we checked in we headed to our room and explored the grounds on the way! I think Kaci and I said “this is so cute” 100 times while we were there. They have a few different areas with lawn chairs and fire pits, and one area with games! It would be such a fun place to stay with a big group, and you could have so much fun just staying at the hotel. It has it all!

The room was incredible. I love how many Texas touches there was throughout everything at Lone Star Court. There was a sliding barn door leading into the bathroom, and even mason jars holding bathroom toiletries. Again, so homey. If you want to see a full room tour, and more of the property head over to my Instagram and click on the “travel” highlights.

DINNER

Once we were settled and done taking a million Instagram stories and photos we headed off to dinner! We met Kaci’s Papa at Jack Allen’s Kitchen and hung out for awhile before heading back to the hotel to get ready for the night. We knew we wanted to check out their bar, and headed there to hang out for a bit. They had live music, and there were a ton of other guests hanging out!

Since we were staying in The Domain we went to a few of the bars on Rock Rose. If you haven’t been to Austin before and you’re looking for a fun place to go out, that isn’t as crazy as 6th Street I recommend checking Rock Rose out! It’s just one street that has different bars, and a ton of different vibes depending on what you’re wanting.

SATURDAY

We are both earlier rises, so we got up pretty early so we could enjoy breakfast and still have time to hang out at the hotel. They offer free continental breakfast with your stay, and breakfast is held in their restaurant and bar! It was the traditional hotel breakfast with most of the normal options: biscuits, cereal, eggs, fruit, etc. It was a bit chilly in the morning but we sat outside for a little bit since they have table and chairs located right in front of the pool! One thing I loved about my stay at Lone Star Court is how it really does feel like you’re camping in the aspect that it’s very much like a community feel. People are always walking around, and enjoying the hotel itself. It’s so different than just checking into a room, and only being there to sleep.

They have bikes you can rent out to ride around the hotel – how cute?!

BRUNCH

While we were planning the trip we both had one place each that we wanted to check out for brunch, and Irene’s was mine. It’s a very trendy/Instagram worthy place, and that’s basically why we both wanted to go! Hahah, life of a blogger…. Parking was pretty typical of Austin, and we paid for street parking just a few blocks away. I ordered the vegetarian chilly (I do not recommend) and Kaci got an avocado chicken sandwich which she really liked! We both tried the froze, which Irene’s is famously known for but neither of us was too into it! It definitely makes for a cute picture though.

DINNER

Honestly after a full day of taking photos (yes, it’s tiring people) and driving everywhere in Austin, and after a night of going out and pretending we were college kids again (we’re old) we spent most of the afternoon hanging out at Kaci’s papa just relaxing. Around 5 or so, Kaci wanted to get out and enjoy the gorgeous weather so we got drinks and appetizers at Ski Shores Cafe. It’s a very chill place, located on the water, and a perfect spot to hang out when the weather is nice!

We somehow went out again, and this night ventured to Rainey Street. This is another fun place to bar hop if you’re wanting a fun night out in Austin.

Sunday was our travel day, but we did still get lunch and dessert at The Domain before heading back to Houston! We went to Flower Child, which has a ton of healthy options and is super cute inside and out. Then we got chocolate banana milkshakes at Frost and they were HEAVENLY.
