Summer is right around the corner, and you know what that means! Swimsuit season.

For most girls swimsuit season can bring a sense of panic. Panic over getting the perfect body, perfect swimsuit, and a glowing tan. While I am such a summer gal, and absolutely love everything that comes along with it, I still get panicky at the thought of a swimsuit! 1. Buy a well fitting swimsuit

This is my #1 tip, and for a good reason. Getting the perfect fit in a swimsuit is SO important, and how you are going to feel your absolute best. Every year it’s fun to see all the new swimsuit trends, and it can be easy to want to try them all! But it’s also important to know your body type and know what looks best on you. Not every new trendy bikini is going to flatter you, and that’s okay!

2. Make healthier choices

I am definitely not someone who tries out every diet for summer, and I never will. I like to make healthier choices with food and make smart decisions. Of course, I try to do this year round but swimsuit season is usually a bit motivator for me to eat better!

For me, it’s so much easier to implement healthy habits into my lifestyle, than to drastically change it. I definitely enjoy pizza and queso too much for a diet.

Habits I’m implementing for Summer:

  • drinking more water
  • cutting out soda
  • eating less sugar
  • snacking on veggies

3. Use your favorite self-tanner

I don’t know about you, but when I’m tan I feel 100% more confident than when I’m pale. Something about having bronze skin just makes me feel so good about myself!

In high school, I used to tan in tanning beds, and oh my gosh I got so dark and loved how I looked. BUT now that I’m older… and wiser I realize how bad that was for my skin. Awful actually.

Now, before I head to the pool or on a vacation I like to use a tanning lotion, so that I have a bit of color before my trip! Using a self-tanner is so much better for your skin, and you are going to look glowing and bronze without any harmful side effects!

4. Move your body every day

If you know me, you know I am so not the fitness girl. I will definitely never run a marathon, or have a six pack but I do my best to exercise 4-5 times a week! Having Quinn (my pup) really helps since walking her gets me moving and outside every day.

Even if you are super busy, you can make time for a 30-minute walk after work, or school! Do your best to do some type of activity every day, or every week! Make sure you choose something that makes you happy, and not something you absolutely dread. If you hate going to the gym, try an at-home workout. If you aren’t a runner, go on a walk with a friend!

The more you get your body moving, the better you will feel.

5. BeYOUtiful

Maybe a little cheesy, but had to add this one in! We’re all beautiful, we’re all different and we all can rock a swimsuit every summer season! Love the skin you’re in, and be confident in who you are!
