Jumper | Adidas Superstars (order 1 whole size down) | Kate Spade bag: old (similar linked)
Today I am going to talk about the struggle that is, having a baby face. Basically my whole teen years I have been told how young I look, but have always been reassured that it’s a good thing. I have never been a fan of that reassurance.
Being 23 and still constantly being told I look like a freshman (in high school) can get really old. Especially after graduating college, and wanting to look like a real adult.
I have been tagged in so many BuzzFeed articles about this problem it’s insane. I figured I would pinball off of all of the “baby face problem” articles out there and add my own opinion on it!
Things that happen when you look way younger than you are
- People are shocked when you tell them how old you are
- Getting carded for a R rated movie
- Being told how much you will appreciate your baby face when you’re 40
- Looking even more significantly younger when you go without make-up
- Getting a funny look from the cashier when you purchase anything that deems you an adult (ie. insurance, tires, etc.)
- No one believes you on your birthday
- Forever getting carded for alcohol
- Bouncers question your ID, and usually think it’s fake
- Always having the nickname “the baby” or “the little one”
- Feeling accomplished when people guess your age and are within 5 years
- Servers assuming you can’t afford anything at a nice restaurant
- Having the mindset “I’m gonna look my age today” while getting ready
- Getting dirty looks when you’re out in public with your younger family member. Even though you actually could be old enough to be their mom
- Not ever wanting to be pregnant because you know people will mistake you as a teen mom
- Only ever being called “cute”
I have been loving this jumper lately. Plus, the long sleeve shirt underneath comes with it - so two outfits in one! I love the dark colored stripes, and paired it with some Adidas superstars to make it a bit more casual!
Adidas superstars have been all of the rage lately, and I never knew if I could really rock them. I have a smaller foot, and was worried they would end up looking like clown shoes on me.
As you know, my style is more casual and I knew that a cute sneaker would become a staple in my closet. Black Friday they went on major sale so without even thinking I ordered them. Once they were shipped out to me I browsed Pinterest for some outfit inspiration, and had so many ideas! I am totally in love with my TopShop ripped black denim, and figured I would have those on repeat with my Adidas! Until, I found this jumper! I love the look of dresses with sneakers. It’s my not-so-girly style mixed with casualness wrapped into one look. It’s the perfect combination!
