Easy Summer Minimal Makeup Look

Something changed in me, and now all of a sudden I am so into the minimal and natural makeup look! I never was the beauty guru, but I definitely loved a full face of makeup, and liked spending time on makeup! I think once my skin started breaking out a lot recently, I was going multiple weeks makeup-less to give it a breather! The last time I wore real foundation I just wasn’t loving how I looked, or how it wore on my skin. So, I’m sticking to a more natural look these days, which is perfect for summertime! In Houston, you can expect to sweat your whole face-off, so it’s definitely on the safe side to wear less!

The majority of the products I use are drugstore, so you can pick them all up on your next Target trip!

STEP ONE: PRIMER

I’ve been really liking this drugstore primer! It’s dewy, and a little tinted actually so I think it’s perfect for this minimal look since it does a good job of smoothing and evening out your skin.

STEP TWO: FOUNDATION

I apply my foundation with a damp beauty blender! I’ve always used this brand. This foundation has quickly become my favorite! It’s super lightweight, clean (ish) ingredients, and is buildable! I have some acne spots, and redness I like to cover up, and this product does the trick! I will say it isn’t super long-wearing but it’s perfect for a light look for a few hours!

STEP THREE: CONCEAL

These two concealers are my OG’s! I’ve used both since college, and will forever re-purchase them. I apply the Becca under eye brightening corrector with my index finger, and dab it lightly. After that sets a bit I’ll go in with my concealer and blend that with a beauty blender! I only apply concealer under my eyes!

STEP FOUR: SET

Sometimes I skip this step, but I’ll go all over with my Laura Mercerie setting powder to keep everything locked in!

STEP FIVE: BRONZER & HIGHLIGHT

Pretty self-explanatory, but next I apply a little bit of bronzer and highlighter. I apply my favorite bronzer to my cheek bones, and sweep around along under my neck and around my hairline to blend it all out. Then, I apply highlighter to the bridge of my nose and above the bronzer, I applied to my cheekbones! My highlighter is technically a blush so I kind of use it as both since the top color is a pretty bronze highlight!

STEP SIX: SETTING SPRAY

Mist the setting spray all over!

STEP SEVEN: MASCARA

Last step, and definitely most important… MASCARA! I use three different mascara’s, by the way.

First is the mascara primer: I actually do two coats of the primer. I do one whole eye first (as primer you kind of have to work quickly). I let the primer dry about 20-30 seconds and then go in with the L’oreal Telescopic mascara in the blackest black color. After a million coats of that, I use the Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara. This one does a really good job of separating my lashes!

I’ve been using this combo for a while now and absolutely love it! Both mascaras are perfect on their own too, but I’ve always been the girl who uses 2-3 mascaras!

This whole routine takes me about 10-15 minutes from start to finish! I love the dewy summer look it gives me, and I still feel like I’m wearing nothing!
